Tinubu's Wife Discusses National Security Challenges

Oluremi Tinubu, Nigeria's First Lady, addressed security issues during a visit to Ekiti State, stating that her husband, President Bola Tinubu, often sleeps at 3 AM due to the country's insecurity challenges. She reaffirmed the Federal Government's commitment to enhancing national security and dismantling criminal syndicates across Nigeria.

During her engagement at the Jibowu Hall in Ado Ekiti, she emphasized the need for collaboration with traditional rulers to address issues like kidnapping, banditry, and violent crime. Tinubu highlighted various initiatives in Ekiti State, including the establishment of an ICT center and a scholarship program worth N200 million for students.

She also mentioned support for 2,000 traders and elderly citizens, as well as ongoing empowerment programs. Traditional ruler Oba Adejimi Adu Alagbado called for urgent reforms in Nigeria's security architecture, urging the Federal Government to strengthen laws against kidnapping and to fast-track the establishment of state police to improve security responses.
