NPAN Calls for Action on Insecurity and Elects Lady Maiden Alex-Ibru as President

The Nigerian Press Association (NPAN) elected Lady Maiden Alex-Ibru as president during its 2025 annual general meeting. NPAN urged the government to address insecurity, economic challenges, and media regulation.

The association also emphasized the importance of democratic values, free and fair elections, and press freedom. NPAN condemned the killings and abductions in the country, expressing concerns over the shrinking democratic space and inadequate regulation of online media platforms.

Additionally, NPAN commended Malam Kabiru Yusuf, chairman of Media Trust, for completing his second term.
