IPAC Warns Against Manipulation in Osun Election

The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) issued a warning against the use of state resources to manipulate the upcoming governorship election in Osun State, scheduled for Saturday. Dr Yusuf Dantalle, IPAC National Chairman, made this statement during a press briefing in Abuja following a General Assembly meeting.

He stressed that the election should reflect the people's free choice and condemned any unfair advantage gained through governmental structures. Dantalle criticized the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for freezing Osun State Government accounts, labeling it politically motivated and detrimental to the state's administration.

He urged the EFCC to conduct investigations without disrupting essential services. IPAC called for professionalism from security agencies and transparency from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), urging all political parties to reject violence and intimidation.

The council encouraged the citizens of Osun to vote peacefully and allow electoral officials to perform their duties without interference.
