Iran Offers $30,000 Reward for U.S. Soldier Capture

On Sunday, Major General Amir Hatami, the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army, announced a $30,000 reward for anyone who captures or kills a United States soldier and hands them over to the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army. This decision was made following what Hatami described as “the large number of requests” from the public for financial support for Iran’s military efforts.

He specified that Iranian women who carry out such actions would receive double the reward. The announcement marks a significant escalation in the already tense confrontation between Iran and the United States, reflecting deep hostility amid ongoing military and diplomatic tensions.

The backdrop includes a series of military confrontations that began after U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran on February 28, leading to a ceasefire in April and a failed diplomatic process later in June. The situation remains volatile, particularly around the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.
