Iran's Energy Minister Addresses Threats to Infrastructure

In an interview broadcast on state television on Tuesday, Iran's Energy Minister Abbas Aliabadi downplayed the threat of attacks on the country's energy infrastructure, asserting that Iran is less vulnerable compared to other countries in the region. He referred to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, which has entered its fourth week, and highlighted that Iran has 150 power plants across the country.

Aliabadi's comments come in the context of U.S. President Donald Trump's threats to strike Iran's energy infrastructure, particularly if the Strait of Hormuz, a vital shipping lane for global crude oil transit, is not reopened.

Trump announced on Monday that the U.S. is engaging in "good talks" to end the war, although Iran has denied any dialogue has taken place. The remarks reflect the heightened tensions in the region, particularly with Iran's Gulf neighbor, Israel.
