Irish Boxer Lee Reeves in Critical Condition After Knockout

Irish boxer Lee Reeves, aged 31 and hailing from Limerick, is currently in a critical but stable condition in the hospital after experiencing a 10th-round knockout defeat to Gary Cully during their vacant BUI Celtic super-lightweight title bout at Dublin’s 3Arena on Saturday night. Following the match, Reeves was stretchered from the ring and taken for medical treatment.

Queensberry Promotions confirmed on Sunday that Reeves remains in a critical but stable condition, stating, “We will know more in the coming days, and our thoughts and prayers remain with Lee and his family.” Cully, who achieved victory with a late stoppage, paid tribute to Reeves, acknowledging him as a significant underdog who demonstrated his capability to compete at a higher level. Queensberry promoter Frank Warren also conveyed support for Reeves and his family, indicating that the promotion is in constant contact with Reeves' team.

The bout was part of the undercard for Pierce O’Leary’s fight against Mark Chamberlain, where Chamberlain also won by a 10th-round knockout.
