Itauma Ready to Challenge Dubois for WBO Title

Mose Itauma, a heavyweight prospect, has expressed readiness to fight Daniel Dubois, the newly crowned WBO heavyweight champion. Dubois secured his title by defeating Fabio Wardley in Manchester on a Saturday, stopping Wardley in the 11th round after knocking him down twice earlier in the fight.

This victory marked Dubois' 22nd stoppage win in his career. Itauma, currently ranked number one by WBO and WBA, made his intentions clear from ringside during the main event.

WBO president Gustavo Olivieri has indicated that Itauma will be formally recommended as a mandatory challenger, pending approval from the committee. The decision on whether Dubois will face Itauma next or be allowed a voluntary defense remains uncertain.

Promoter Frank Warren has suggested a different path for Itauma, with plans for him to headline a fight in London on August 8, targeting four major belts by the end of the year.
