ITF Launches Nationwide Screening for 2026 SUPA Program

The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) has commenced a nationwide screening exercise for the 2026 Skills Upgrade Programme for Artisans (SUPA), aimed at verifying eligibility and practical experience of candidates. This screening will occur in two phases: the Northern Zone from July 14 to July 17, 2023, and the Southern Zone from July 21 to July 24, 2023.

The Northern Zone encompasses the North Central, North West, and North East geopolitical zones, while the Southern Zone includes the South East, South West, and South South geopolitical zones. The exercise will take place simultaneously across three senatorial districts in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to ensure wider participation.

Dr. Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun, the Director General of ITF, emphasized the urgent need to improve technical competencies in Nigeria's artisan sector, which is increasingly filled by foreign workers due to local artisans lacking modern technical skills.

The ITF aims to expand partnerships with international certification bodies to ensure Nigerian artisans obtain globally recognized qualifications.
