Iwobi Prefers Messi Over Ronaldo in GOAT Debate

Alex Iwobi, a midfielder for the Super Eagles, has expressed his preference for Lionel Messi over Cristiano Ronaldo in the ongoing debate regarding the greatest football player of all time. Speaking on the "Beast Mode" podcast hosted by Adebayo Akinfenwa, Iwobi reflected on his experiences facing both players.

He noted that while Ronaldo has an impressive aura and efficiency, particularly in crucial moments, his encounters with Messi left a more profound impression. Iwobi recalled his first Champions League start against Barcelona at Camp Nou in March 2016, where he was struck by the atmosphere and Messi's dominance on the field.

He described how challenging it was to tackle Messi, as he controlled the rhythm of the game and was surrounded by a star-studded squad, including Neymar and Luis Suárez. Iwobi also mentioned facing Messi during Nigeria's 2-1 defeat to Argentina in the 2018 World Cup in Russia, where Messi scored the opening goal.
