Ogun Government Urges Youths to Reject Election Violence

As the 2027 general elections approach, the Ogun State government has called on its youth to reject election violence. This message was delivered by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, during the 2026 International Youth Day event organized by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ogun State chapter.

Talabi praised the NYCN leadership for their maturity and leadership qualities, expressing confidence that the youth would avoid political bigotry. He highlighted the government's efforts to incorporate youth into maintaining law and order, stating that the administration has achieved more through dialogue than confrontation.

Talabi encouraged youths to propose initiatives for their growth and assured government support. The State Head of Service, Olanrewaju Saka, also addressed the youth, urging them to embrace their responsibilities with integrity.

The event included the inauguration of 2,360 ward executives of the NYCN, and both Talabi and Saka received awards for excellence.
