JAMB and INEC Discuss Biometric Technology Collaboration

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) held discussions on collaboration regarding biometric technology following a courtesy visit by JAMB Registrar Professor Segun Aina and the Board’s management team to INEC headquarters in Abuja. The visit aimed to formally introduce the new management team to INEC and explore areas for cooperation.

Professor Aina praised INEC for its trust in JAMB, particularly in utilizing its services for recruitment exercises. He highlighted the agencies' shared reliance on biometric technology and identity verification, suggesting opportunities for knowledge sharing and resource optimization.

INEC Chairman Professor Joash Amupitan welcomed the JAMB delegation, commending JAMB's role in Nigerian education. He directed the Director of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to assess the biometric verification proposal.

Amupitan expressed a commitment to strengthening inter-agency cooperation and indicated plans for a reciprocal visit to JAMB to further explore collaboration.
