JAMB Launches Home-Based O'Level Verification for 2026 UTME Candidates
The examination board has deployed an online system allowing UTME applicants to verify and submit O'Level results remotely, starting with WAEC credentials.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has unveiled a digital platform enabling 2026 UTME candidates to authenticate and upload their O'Level examination results from their residences, eliminating the requirement to visit Computer-Based Test centres. The announcement came from Fabian Benjamin, JAMB's Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, on Monday, August 24.
Under this arrangement, JAMB will cross-reference candidates' O'Level credentials directly with the examination authorities responsible for administering the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination. The rollout begins with results from the West African Examinations Council, with the system operating through JAMB's e-Facility platform to establish real-time verification channels between the two institutions.
Previously, candidates seeking to register for UTME had to present their O'Level results in person at designated CBT centres as part of the enrolment procedure. The new digital pathway streamlines this workflow by allowing remote access and submission, reducing logistical friction for applicants across Nigeria.
JAMB has structured the verification process to occur automatically between its systems and examination bodies, rather than requiring manual document handling or centre visits. The system's deployment signals an institutional shift toward reducing physical infrastructure dependencies for routine administrative tasks in the university admissions pipeline.
