JAMB Restores CAPS, Urges Quick Admissions for 2026

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced the restoration of the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) on September 27, following a temporary disruption caused by an administrative challenge with its hosting organization. In its weekly bulletin, JAMB urged tertiary institutions to accelerate their admission processes to compensate for lost time and adhere to deadlines established at the 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions.

Public universities must conclude admissions by October 31, private universities by November 30, and other tertiary institutions by December 31. The board emphasized that the recent release of the 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination results by the National Examinations Council (NECO) provides essential information for processing admissions.

JAMB also advised candidates to promptly accept admission offers and upload or verify their NECO results on the appropriate platform. The board is committed to expediting the approval of admission recommendations and enhancing the stability of the CAPS system to prevent future disruptions.
