Tinubu Launches ₦178.1bn Birnin Gwari Road Reconstruction

On Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu officially launched the reconstruction of the 122.8-kilometre Mando–Birnin Gwari Road in Kaduna State, a project valued at ₦178.1 billion. This initiative is designed to improve connectivity and stimulate economic activities in the region.

During the flag-off ceremony, which he attended through Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, Tinubu emphasized the road's significance as a strategic national infrastructure linking Northern Nigeria with the South-West. He reiterated his campaign promise from 2022 to reconstruct the road, highlighting the administration's commitment to reversing decades of neglect.

Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, stated that the project would enhance security, unlock agricultural potential, and contribute to efforts in tackling hunger through infrastructure development. Umahi also noted that the Tinubu administration's economic reforms were yielding positive results despite the challenges faced since 2023.

The project is expected to facilitate the movement of people and goods, thereby fostering economic growth in the region.
