Jonathan and Fubara Urge Rivers Monarchs for Leadership

Former President Goodluck Jonathan and Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara called on traditional rulers to exhibit purposeful and selfless leadership at the coronation of King Charles Douglas MacPepple Jaja, Jeki VI, Amanyanabo of Opobo Kingdom. The event took place on Saturday in Rivers State.

Jonathan congratulated the new king, expressing confidence that his reign would foster peace, development, and unity in Opobo. He pledged support from government institutions to aid in community development.

Fubara, represented by his deputy, Prof. Ngozi Odu, highlighted the significance of preserving cultural traditions and called for collaboration between traditional institutions and the government. He urged the new monarch to lead with purpose and wisdom, ensuring the continuity of cultural values for future generations.

Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha, acknowledged the historical ties between Opobo and Onitsha, emphasizing the importance of mutual respect and trade.
