Junaidu Elected Provost of Veterinary Surgeons College

Professor Abdulkadir Usman Junaidu of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, has been elected as the Provost of the College of Veterinary Surgeons of Nigeria (CVSN). His election was conducted in Abuja and overseen by an Electoral Committee chaired by Professor Caleb Kudi.

Junaidu, a Professor of Veterinary Public Health, emphasized that his mandate is a collective responsibility and pledged to enhance the College through improved specialist training, research, and innovation. He aims to modernize training programs to tackle emerging challenges in animal health and public health.

Junaidu also plans to strengthen partnerships with universities and international institutions, improve the visibility of Nigerian veterinary specialists, and promote the professional interests of Fellows. His extensive experience includes leadership roles at Usmanu Danfodiyo University and service as a Commissioner in Sokoto State for Animal Health and Fisheries Development.

Junaidu's administration will focus on governance, transparency, and addressing One Health and food security challenges.
