Fayose Plans to Oppose Makinde in 2027 Elections

Ayodele Fayose, the former governor of Ekiti State, publicly declared his intention to oppose Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde in the upcoming 2027 general elections. During an interview on Channels Television, Fayose accused Makinde of weakening and destabilizing the structure of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the Southwest.

He described the situation as a betrayal of trust within the party and emphasized the need for a political pushback against Makinde in the next electoral cycle. Fayose referenced a Yoruba proverb to illustrate his point about reclaiming political land that he believes has been unjustly taken.

He asserted that he is not alone in this political battle, mentioning that several key figures, including Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, are aligned against Makinde. Fayose characterized Makinde as an enemy and expressed his commitment to working against him in the 2027 elections.
