Fayose Claims No Contest Against Tinubu for 2027 Election

Ayo Fayose, the former Governor of Ekiti State, asserted in an interview that Bola Tinubu is the clear favorite for the 2027 presidential election, claiming that no one is contesting against him. Fayose argued that the opposition parties lack the strength to mount a serious challenge and are weakened by their inability to unite behind a common platform.

He dismissed any suggestions that Tinubu faces significant electoral threats, despite concerns over insecurity and economic hardship in Nigeria. Fayose noted that the proliferation of political parties diminishes the prospects of the opposition and drew parallels to the 2023 presidential election, where divisions among opposition candidates worked in Tinubu's favor.

He acknowledged that while Tinubu is not perfect, he has made efforts to address the country's security crisis and criticized the previous administration's handling of governance.
