Fubara Orders Closure of Collapsed Building Site in Rivers

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State ordered the immediate closure of a collapsed building site located on Peter Odili Road, Port Harcourt. This decision was made following his visit to the scene on Friday to assess the extent of the damage and ongoing rescue efforts.

The building collapse has raised serious concerns regarding safety compliance with construction standards in the state. Fubara described the incident as a painful and unfortunate tragedy, emphasizing the need for adherence to proper construction standards.

He disclosed that the state government would seal off the area to allow for a full investigation into the causes of the collapse. No activities will continue at the site until authorities conclude their findings.
