El-Rufai Reports Nosebleeds During EFCC Custody

Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, disclosed that he suffered from severe nosebleeds while in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). This statement was made through his media aide, Muyiwa Adekey, who provided updates on the situation.

El-Rufai was initially arrested earlier in the month due to allegations of fraud and embezzlement. After a brief release, he was re-arrested and detained by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

His lawyer, Ubong Akpan, characterized El-Rufai's detention as unlawful and lacking justification. The EFCC had granted him administrative bail with conditions, including that he must have served as a federal permanent secretary and provide a surety.

Additionally, it was reported that El-Rufai's wife was not allowed to deliver meals directly to him during his detention, which raised concerns about his health and treatment in custody.
