Police Commissioner Visits Family of Slain Comedian Aiza

On August 30, 2026, Isaac Nwosu, a prominent comedian known as Aiza, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Awka, Anambra State. Eyewitnesses reported that three assailants in a tinted vehicle trailed Nwosu from his home before opening fire, resulting in his death inside his Toyota Hilux vehicle.

A second body was found separately on the street that same night. Following the incident, Commissioner of Police Nnanna Oji Ama visited Nwosu's family to express condolences and described the deceased as an asset to Anambra State.

During his visit, CP Ama convened a two-hour closed-door meeting with the Command's strategic and operational officers to review intelligence and enhance the police response to violent crime. He directed all relevant units within the Command to intensify efforts to identify and apprehend those responsible for the murder, assuring the family and residents of Anambra State that the investigation would be pursued with full determination.
