12 Arrested in Anambra Comedian Isaac Nwosu's Murder Case

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested at least 12 individuals linked to the murder of popular comedian and town crier Isaac Nwosu, known as “Aiza Nwosu,” as well as other cult-related killings in Awka. The police denied claims that officers demanded N600,000 for the release of Chikamso Jennifer, alleged to be a sister of one of the suspects.

SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the police spokesman, clarified during a press briefing that Jennifer's arrest and release were part of an ongoing investigation into the murder case. The allegations arose after RULAAC expressed concerns over Jennifer's safety and claimed she had been detained for four days.

They alleged that N600,000 was paid for her release without a receipt and that her mobile phone was seized improperly. Ikenga challenged anyone alleging police corruption to provide credible evidence and stated that the police welcomed scrutiny of their activities while maintaining that no extortion occurred.
