Protests rock Delta State after gunmen's attacks spark unrest in Sapele

Fresh protests erupted in Delta State's Sapele Local Government Area following alleged attacks by gunmen in the Otonyasere community. The incident, which resulted in the destruction of homes and shops, led to a peaceful demonstration by hundreds of Okpe indigenes.

The protesters accused individuals from Alema Warri of sponsoring the violence and disputed land ownership claims in the region. The Okpe Youth Council Worldwide president, Moses Newcome Odiete, emphasized the community's demand for peace and condemned the alleged annexation attempts.

Community leaders highlighted historical grievances and called for government intervention to address the escalating tensions and violence in the area.
