DIG Fayoad Updates on Oyo Abducted Pupils Rescue Efforts

Adegoke Fayoad, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, gave a fresh update regarding the ongoing efforts to rescue schoolchildren and teachers abducted in Oyo State. During an official visit to the Lagos State Police Command headquarters, Fayoad expressed confidence that the victims would regain their freedom soon, as Nigerian security agencies are intensifying operations.

He emphasized that discussions surrounding ransom payments are not being entertained, dismissing claims that police are involved in such negotiations. Fayoad's visit aimed to strengthen supervision across police commands in the South-West region and address emerging security threats.

He noted that the Nigerian Police Force is focused on improving personnel welfare and has initiated the recruitment of 40,000 additional officers to enhance national security. Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of technological advancements in policing, including the establishment of a data center to improve law enforcement and crime prevention efforts.
