Tinubu Leads First FEC Meeting Since June 2026

President Bola Tinubu presided over a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the State House in Abuja on July 30, 2026, marking his first meeting since June 29, 2026. The session commenced at 2:30 pm with the national anthem.

Attendees included Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Dr Didi Walson-Jack, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, ministers, presidential aides, and heads of agencies. The council observed a minute’s silence in honor of Abubakar Alhaji, former Minister of Finance under the Ibrahim Babangida administration, who passed away on July 30, 2026, and Prof Turner Isoun, former Minister of Science and Technology under the Olusegun Obasanjo administration, who died on July 15, 2026.

At the previous FEC meeting on June 29, 2026, Tinubu swore in two new Federal Commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission: Amina Gamawa for Bauchi State and Abdullahi Mukhtar for Kaduna State.
