Works Minister Umahi Hints at Presidential Run in 2027

Nigeria's Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, hinted at a possible presidential run in 2027 during the Ohanivo 2025 New Yam Festival in Ebonyi State. Umahi, a former governor, mentioned that while the timing might not be right for the Southeast at present, he would not shy away from a presidential race if the opportunity arises.

Umahi referenced President Bola Tinubu entrusting major projects to the region and emphasized the need for the Southeast to have a voice in the presidency. This comes after Umahi had previously declared his interest in running for the 2023 election.
