Adebayo Advocates Justice Over Religion for 2027 Elections

Adewale Adebayo, the presidential candidate for the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has dismissed claims that a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket would provide electoral advantages in Nigeria's 2027 elections. Speaking on a television morning show, Adebayo insisted that Nigerians are more concerned with justice, security, and economic prosperity than religious identity.

He highlighted the worsening economic conditions and insecurity in the country, arguing that public attention should focus on issues directly affecting daily life. Adebayo criticized the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, stating that public confidence in the All Progressives Congress (APC) has significantly declined.

He identified five major areas of concern, including constitutional violations and perceived injustices. Adebayo asserted that the SDP has faced legal obstacles during elections and emphasized that religion should not overshadow the welfare of citizens.

He concluded that Nigeria's democratic choices should be defined by justice and accountability rather than religious or ethnic sentiments.
