Anglican Church Launches Health Education Campaign in Kaduna

The Anglican Church has announced a statewide health education campaign in Kaduna State aimed at addressing poor health-seeking behavior, self-medication, and preventable deaths among Nigerians. Most Rev. Timothy Yahaya, the Archbishop of the Province of Kaduna and Bishop of the Diocese of Kaduna, made this announcement during the inaugural Health Summit organized by the Diocese of Kaduna on Monday.

He stated that the church would utilize its extensive network of congregations and communities to educate individuals on healthy living and disease prevention. The initiative is a response to the increasing burden of preventable illnesses, low life expectancy, and widespread ignorance regarding basic healthcare practices.

Yahaya emphasized the church's commitment to improving health across various communities, stating, "Our responsibility is not limited to our jurisdiction." The campaign will focus on promoting health awareness, preventive healthcare, and responsible health-seeking behavior, with education being a key tool in reducing avoidable illnesses.
