Uba Sani Advocates for Basic Education Rights in Kaduna

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State is focused on guaranteeing that every child of school age receives access to basic education before the end of his administration. Malam Mubarak Mohammed, the executive chairman of Kaduna State Universal Basic Education (SUBEB), stated that education is a right in the state and that basic education is free, making it an offense for school-age children to be on the streets during school hours.

He highlighted the alarming rate of out-of-school children in Northern Nigeria and praised Governor Sani for successfully returning over 360,000 children to schools, reducing the previous count of over 500,000 out-of-school children. SUBEB has constructed over 2,000 classrooms to accommodate new pupils.

A school enrollment campaign for the 2026/2027 academic year was launched, where government officials and education stakeholders participated in a road walk to promote the importance of education. During this campaign, five children registered for enrollment, and the executive chairman instructed officials to ensure their admission into primary school.
