Kaduna Free Bus Scheme Saves Citizens ₦1.39bn, Carries 1.4M Passengers

Kaduna's Free Bus Scheme, initiated by Governor Uba Sani Maiyaki, has transported 1.4 million passengers in 5 months, saving citizens ₦1.39 billion in transport costs. The scheme, initially for civil servants and students, expanded to include commuters along designated routes.

Over 200 buses operate daily between Kaduna, Zaria, and Kafanchan, benefiting an average of 18,426 daily commuters. The initiative not only eases the financial burden on citizens but also boosts microeconomic activities, especially for small roadside traders.
