Kaduna IGR Grows to N85bn Under Governor Uba Sani

The outgoing Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service, Jerry Adams, announced that the state's Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) increased from N58 billion before 2023 to N85 billion in 2025. This growth is attributed to the political will and non-interference of Governor Uba Sani.

Adams reported that the IGR rose to N62 billion in 2023 and N71 billion in 2024, with projections trending towards N120 billion annually, averaging N10 billion monthly. He noted that previous revenue figures included significant amounts from back-duty recoveries and sales of government properties rather than organic tax growth.

To address this, KADIRS shifted its strategy to expand the tax net and digitized its processes through the PAYKADUNA portal and Project C.R.A.F.T., enhancing revenue administration and fiscal transparency. Adams emphasized the need for sustainable growth rather than relying on one-off recoveries, indicating a focus on broadening the tax base.
