La’ah Campaign Challenges Abbas on NDC Primary Claims

The campaign organization of Senator Danjuma La’ah has publicly challenged Barrister Mohammed Sani Abbas to produce documentary evidence regarding the alleged Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship primary election in Kaduna State, asserting that no primary was conducted. This demand follows a report published by The PUNCH on August 24, 2026, which stated that the NDC disowned La’ah’s candidacy.

Abbas claimed to have obtained the NDC governorship nomination form, been screened, and participated in a primary election, but La’ah's campaign questioned the legitimacy of these claims. They requested the NDC to provide official records, including the primary notice, date, venue, electoral committee details, and other relevant documents.

The La’ah campaign noted that the Kaduna state NDC leadership had previously stated in July that the primary scheduled for May 29, 2026, did not occur, attributing this to efforts for consensus among party aspirants. The campaign also mentioned that two of the four aspirants had stepped down in favor of La’ah during reconciliation efforts.
