Kaduna State to Procure 120,000 Fertilizer Bags, Build Roads

The Kaduna State Executive Council, chaired by Governor Uba Sani, approved the procurement of 6,000 metric tons of fertilizer, translating to 120,000 bags, to support smallholder farmers. This decision was made during a meeting attended by Deputy Governor Dr.

Hadiza Balarabe and other senior officials. Last August, the governor distributed 400 trucks of free fertilizer to 100,000 smallholder farmers, marking the largest fertilizer distribution in the state.

Additionally, the council approved the second phase of constructing township roads in Zaria, specifically in the Sabon Gari Local Government Area. The project aims to improve road infrastructure, facilitate movement, and enhance economic activities.

Contracts for the construction of 11 roads were awarded to Messrs Mothercat Nigeria Limited and Messrs CGC Nigeria Limited, with specific roads listed for development. The council also approved a life skills policy aimed at promoting equity and improving educational outcomes for learners in the state.
