FG Launches N178bn Kaduna Highway Reconstruction Project

On Tuesday, the Federal Government flagged off the reconstruction of the 122.89-kilometre Kaduna (Mando)-Birnin Gwari Road in Kaduna State, a project valued at N178.116bn. This initiative is intended to restore a crucial transport corridor that has been neglected and plagued by insecurity.

President Bola Tinubu performed the groundbreaking through Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, emphasizing that the project fulfills a campaign promise made prior to the 2023 general elections. The road will connect communities that have suffered from insecurity and poor infrastructure, serving as a vital link between Northern Nigeria and Lagos.

Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, described the project as a significant milestone in the Federal Government’s infrastructure renewal program, which aims to enhance security, reduce transportation costs, and unlock the region's economic potential. He commended both President Tinubu and Governor Sani for their commitment to the project, which is expected to revitalize the corridor known for insecurity and banditry.
