Kaduna Institute Enhances Vocational Training and Seeks Funding

The Kaduna State Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development (KIVTSD) has pledged to enhance vocational training and provide practical skills to more youths for self-reliance while seeking improved government funding. This commitment was made during the inaugural meeting of the newly appointed board at the institute's Rigachikun campus.
Board chairman Mrs Esther Bago expressed readiness to collaborate with management to fulfill the institute's mandate and thanked Governor Uba Sani for the board's appointments. Provost Alhaji Husaini Haruna Muhammed reported that the institute graduated 4,050 learners in August, each receiving a ₦200,000 start-up grant.
He called for increased budgetary provisions to meet operational needs due to the large number of learners and contract staff. Deputy Provosts Mrs Phoebe Yayi Sukai and Dr Ahmed Usman acknowledged the governor's support but noted incomplete projects across the campuses.
Hon. Dauda Madaki, representing the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, stated that the institute could play a significant role in job creation and improving security in Kaduna State.
