Jennifer Etuh Foundation Empowers 3,113 Women in Kaduna

The Jennifer Etuh Foundation has successfully trained 3,113 women in Kaduna State as part of the Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) Project, which concluded with a close-out event. The initiative, funded by Bayer Foundation, aimed to improve the economic independence of women by providing vocational skills in areas such as tailoring, shoemaking, hairdressing, and vertical sack farming.
The project spanned three years and included training in six local government areas: Kaura, Jema’a, Makarfi, Sabon Gari, Zaria, Chikun, and Kaduna South. Joseph Otu, the programme manager, noted that the project has enabled women to establish businesses and farms at home, thereby increasing household income.
Project Supervisor Mrs Etimbuk Udoette emphasized the initiative's impact, with beneficiaries already utilizing their skills for income-generating activities. Engr. Noel Bali from the Kaduna State Ministry of Business, Innovation and Technology praised the foundation for supporting vocational skills development, while local leaders acknowledged the project's role in combating poverty and unemployment.
