ADC Candidate Little Condemns Attack on Journalists

Alhaji Ibrahim Ali Amin Little, the Kano State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), condemned the recent attack on journalists covering the All Progressives Congress (APC) rally at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano. In a statement signed by his executive assistant, Adnan Mukhtar, Little described the incident as unfortunate and unacceptable.

He urged security agencies to enhance their commitment to ending political thuggery in the state, expressing concern over politicians allegedly recruiting thugs for rallies. Little stated that such practices expose youth to criminal activities and undermine the integrity of political engagement.

He criticized the contradiction of a government claiming to combat thuggery while allegedly sponsoring thugs at political events. Little emphasized that political rallies should focus on presenting ideas and engaging citizens rather than fostering violence.

He extended sympathy to the Nigerian Union of Journalists and the affected journalists, assuring that his administration would implement a zero-tolerance policy towards political thuggery and prioritize the protection of lives and property.
