Kano Governor Launches Grassroots Initiative for 2027 Elections

On Wednesday, Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf unveiled a grassroots political engagement initiative to strengthen the All Progressives Congress (APC) structure in preparation for the 2027 general elections. According to a statement from his spokesman, Sunusi Tofa, the initiative aims to mobilize support through the Poll Unit Support Association, popularly known as Yan Akwatina, led by Najib Salati.

The program will cover all 44 local government areas and 484 wards in Kano State, making it one of the largest grassroots mobilization platforms for the party. Governor Yusuf emphasized the importance of re-electing President Bola Tinubu in 2027 to consolidate economic reforms and infrastructure development.

He also donated land worth 100 million naira to assist the association's activities. The governor's political adviser, Mustapha Bakwana, noted that the grassroots mobilization strategy aims to secure at least 1,122,200 votes for Tinubu in the upcoming presidential election.

Kano State APC chairman Umar Doguwa expressed confidence in achieving a landslide victory.
