Rabiu Shuaibu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared the winner of the Kano by-election for the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency. The election, held on Saturday, saw Shuaibu receive a total of 35,356 votes, successfully defeating his closest competitor, Lawal Garba Haruna Alli of the People's Movement (APM), who scored 268 votes.
Abubakar Yahaya Muhammad of the Labour Party (LP) garnered 98 votes. The election was conducted to fill the vacancy created by the death of Muhammad Danjuma Hassan of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
Following the election, Professor Umar Sani officially declared Shuaibu the winner, confirming that all requirements were satisfied for the election to be valid.
