Kano Fire Service Rescues Man from Well While Saving Cow

On August 26, 2026, at approximately 3:22 PM, the Kano State Fire Service received a distress call regarding an incident in Sabon Ruwa Village, Makoda Local Government Area. The call was made by Ibrahim Jibrin, who reported that a five-year-old cow had fallen into an old well.

Badamasi Ibrahim, the cow's owner, aged around 40, attempted to rescue the animal but became trapped in the well himself. The Emergency Response Unit from the Danbatta fire station promptly arrived at the scene and successfully rescued both Badamasi Ibrahim and the cow, despite the man experiencing difficulty in breathing while trapped.

Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, warned the public against attempting such dangerous rescues and urged them to contact the fire service for assistance. Alhaji Sani Anas, the Director of the agency, reiterated the importance of avoiding risky actions that could lead to serious injury or loss of life.
