Kano Police Rescue 9-Year-Old Boy After Four Weeks

The Kano Police Command successfully rescued a 9-year-old boy on July 31, four weeks after he was abducted. The operation was conducted by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit under the supervision of Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori.

Ten suspects, comprising nine men and one woman, were arrested in connection with the crime. The suspects had demanded a ransom of $30,000 for the boy's release.

The rescue took place at Karshen Kwalta, Rimin Kebbe, Ungogo LGA, near the residence of the principal suspect, Abubakar Salihu, alias Sankolo, who remains at large. Preliminary investigations indicated that the arrested individuals played various roles in the abduction, including unlawful trespass and facilitating the victim's movement.

The boy has undergone medical checks at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital and was confirmed safe. The suspects are set to be charged in court following the completion of investigations.

CP Bakori praised the Anti-Kidnapping Unit for their professionalism and urged the public to continue providing timely information.
