Kano Governor Urges Peace and Unity During Takutaha

On Tuesday, Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf called on Muslims in the state to use the annual Takutaha Maulud celebration to reaffirm their commitment to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), focusing on principles such as peace, compassion, justice, and tolerance. In a statement issued by his spokesman, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa, Yusuf described the Takutaha event as a significant religious and cultural tradition that unites Kano residents and provides an opportunity to reflect on the Prophet's life and teachings.

He urged Muslims to embody the values associated with the celebration in their daily lives and to foster peaceful coexistence and mutual understanding. Yusuf commended traditional rulers, Islamic scholars, community leaders, and event organizers for their efforts in preserving Kano's religious and cultural heritage.

He also emphasized the importance of the younger generation in maintaining this heritage and wished the people of Kano a peaceful and successful Takutaha celebration, praying for continued peace, stability, and prosperity in the state.
