Mutfwang Urges Peace and Unity During Maulud Celebration

In a goodwill message for the Maulud celebration, Governor Mutfwang of Plateau State, through Gyang Bere, Director of Press and Public Affairs, encouraged Muslim faithful to reflect on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad, particularly his virtues of peace, justice, compassion, tolerance, and respect for different faiths. Mutfwang highlighted the relevance of these teachings in contemporary society, especially for the stability and development of Plateau State and Nigeria.

He praised the Jos Annual Maulud Committee of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam for their theme, “Emulating the Prophetic Way of Peace, Mutual Respect and Religious Freedom,” which he deemed timely for promoting peaceful coexistence. The Governor called for prayers for peace and unity, urging all citizens to reject violence and promote tolerance.

He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to creating an environment for free practice of faith and assured decisive action against those disrupting peace in the state. Mutfwang prayed that the Eid-el-Maulud celebration would bring blessings and prosperity to Plateau State and Nigeria.
