Kano State Invests N21bn in Water Treatment Rehabilitation

The Kano State government has invested N21 billion into the rehabilitation and overhaul of water treatment plants across the state to ensure a reliable supply of potable water. Hon. Ahmed S.

Aruwa, the special adviser to the governor on Publicity, made this announcement during a meeting with members of the International Human Rights Network at the Kano State Water Board office, where Engineer Garba Ahmad Bichi serves as Managing Director. Aruwa stated that potable drinking water is already accessible in many areas, and he is tasked with assessing the rehabilitation projects and informing the public about Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf's efforts to improve water supply.

He noted that the Gordon Dutse Water Reservoir has been filled with over 40,000 litres of water, which will soon reach the Kano metropolitan area. The Managing Director of the Kano State Water Board, Garba Ahmad Bichi, mentioned that the state government aims to produce 400 million litres of water by December this year.
