Kano Police Arrest Fraudster, Recover N23 Million

The Kano State Police Command announced the arrest of Muhammad Dahiru, a 46-year-old suspected fraudster, on Monday. He is accused of generating fake bank transaction alerts to defraud victims, with a total loss of approximately N23 million.

Kano State Police Commissioner, CP Adamu Bakori, reported that Dahiru confessed to defrauding one company of N13.2 million and another of seven electric motorcycles valued at N10 million. The police are actively working to apprehend other members of the fraud syndicate for prosecution.

In addition to this case, the CP provided an overview of the command's activities in August, revealing that 244 suspects were arrested for various offenses, including 8 suspected kidnappers, 28 suspected armed robbers, and 19 suspected drug dealers. The police also recovered dangerous weapons, vehicles, and illicit drugs during this period.
