Kano Police Impound 81 Vehicles in Security Operation

The Kano Police, led by Commissioner Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, conducted an operation named "Clean Plate" across all 44 local government areas in Kano State, resulting in the impounding of 81 vehicles. This operation was initiated following an extensive public sensitization campaign through various media platforms, educating motorists on the importance of proper vehicle registration and displaying standard number plates.

Bakori emphasized that the enforcement targeted vehicles with covered or altered registration numbers, as such violations often extend beyond traffic offenses and can facilitate criminal activities. During preliminary investigations, three occupants of separate vehicles were unable to satisfactorily account for their ownership, leading to further investigations.

Bakori clarified that the exercise was not intended to harass motorists but to enhance security and ensure every vehicle on the road is properly identifiable. He urged vehicle owners to register their vehicles and install standard number plates, while also appealing to the public to report any unprofessional conduct by police personnel.
