Kano Polytechnic Students Demand Dialogue on Fee Hike

Students from Kano State Polytechnic have raised urgent concerns over a recent increase in tuition fees, prompting a call for immediate dialogue with the institution's management. In a letter addressed to the rector and signed by Comrade Yunu Sulaiman Halliru, the chairman of the Joint Campus Council (JCC), the students expressed their deep concern regarding the timing and scale of the fee increment.

They highlighted that many families are already struggling to meet basic needs, and the new fees could severely hinder students' ability to continue their education. The letter warns that failure to address this issue could lead to a decline in student enrollment and negatively affect the institution's long-term revenue.

The JCC has requested that management convene a meeting within three days to discuss and resolve the matter. The letter emphasizes the students' commitment to protecting their interests and indicates that failure to engage within the specified timeframe may compel students to take necessary actions, including temporary measures to safeguard their welfare.
