Kaduna Polytechnic Clears Students Over Dress Code Incident

Kaduna Polytechnic has taken action to clear students who were reportedly barred from attending lectures due to alleged violations of the institution's dress code policy. This decision follows the circulation of a viral video showing a member of the Polytechnic's dress code committee preventing students from entering the lecture hall.

The Deputy Registrar, Godwin B. Ayegba, stated that while the dress code aims to promote decency and professionalism, it should not be enforced in an extreme or arbitrary manner that undermines students' access to academic activities.

An investigation has already been initiated to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify any lapses in the implementation of the policy. The management reassured that appropriate measures would be taken to resolve the matter swiftly and prevent recurrence.

The Student Union Government, led by Ibrahim Abdullahi Mai Jama, has called for calm, emphasizing that the dress code is a longstanding rule designed to ensure equal treatment of all students, regardless of their religious backgrounds.
