Kano Tech Hub Launches Platform for Transparent Tracking of Government Projects

Blue Sapphire Hub, a tech hub based in Kano, unveiled a new digital platform aimed at promoting transparency and accountability in local governance. The platform allows citizens to track government projects in real-time, submit feedback, and ensure service delivery accountability.

The initiative, coordinated by Sani Sulaiman, seeks to bridge the gap between citizens and the government, fostering transparency in public fund utilization. The platform features a public portal for citizens to view project budgets and progress reports, while an administrative dashboard enables government officials and contractors to upload data and respond to community input.

The program is currently being tested in five local government areas in Kano state, with plans to expand statewide. Officials like Muhammad Usman and Bashir Baba have commended the initiative, emphasizing the importance of digitalizing governance processes.

The Ministry of Local Government is actively supporting the project, which aims to digitize the budget by 2026 and enhance transparency in government operations.
