Kano Tech Hub Launches Platform for Transparent Tracking of Government Projects

Blue Sapphire Hub, a tech hub based in Kano, has launched a digital platform aimed at improving transparency and accountability in tracking government projects. The platform, known as the SLAC Digit Dashboard, enables citizens to track real-time progress on government projects, submit feedback, and ensure service delivery accountability.

Sani Makosidi Sulaiman, the program coordinator, highlighted the platform's role in bridging the gap between citizens and the government, promoting transparency, and allowing people to monitor how funds are utilized. The platform features a public portal for citizens to view project budgets and progress reports, as well as an administrative dashboard for government officials and contractors to upload data and respond to community input.

Currently being piloted in five local government areas, the initiative plans to expand across the entire state. Officials like Muhammad Tajo Usman from the State's Commission of Local Government have commended the project, emphasizing its alignment with the state's digitalization goals.

The Ministry of Local Government has pledged ongoing support, including training and financial assistance.
